1.1. Arena introduces and recognizes categories designated for the online chess player. Ordered hierarchically from higher to lower status, these categories are:
1.1.1. Arena National Master (ANM)
1.1.2. Arena National Candidate (ANC)
1.1.3. Arena First Category (AN1)
1.1.4. Arena Second Category (AN2)
1.1.5. Arena Third Category (AN3)
1.1.6. Arena Amateur (ANA)
1.2. Categories are designated for players of both genders alike.
1.3. Categories can be achieved by playing rated games in National Arena playing zone.
1.4. Categories are valid for life, however acquirement of a higher category described in 1.1 replaces any category reference of a lower status.
2.1. Only full members of National Arena have the right to acquire a category.
2.2. An expired membership does not cancel an already acquired category nor the right of the player to use the category in online chess tournaments.
2.3. Categories are direct categories (automatic categories). The Arena server monitors automatically the requirements and informs the player for the acquire for a category as soon as the requirements are met.
2.4. The player acquires the category as soon as the requirements are achieved.
2.5. Once a category is achieved the player maintains the category for ever, but will not be shown if he is not entitled of a full membership
2.6. A category can be revoked for cheating or other not admitted behavior
3.1. A player is eligible for a category by maintaining a rating equal or higher of the relevant minimum threshold for a number of consecutive rated games.
3.2. This achievement can be made in any of the three categories of time control, either rapid, or blitz, or bullet. The number of games is calculated separately for rapid, blitz and bullet. Meeting the requirements in any of the three categories makes a player eligible for the category.
3.3. As soon as a player's rating drops under the threshold, the number of games is reset to zero (0) for this time control category. Number of games in different time control categories are not affected.
3.4. Minimum ratings and number of games for each category respectively are:

3.5. Acquirement of a category does not reset the counting of games required for a category of a higher status.
3.6. If a player's membership expires, total number of games are reset to zero (0) in all gaming categories.
3.7. Category seekers are advised to renew their membership before expiration date.
With the introduction of the online categories old player categories, if any, are directly converted to new ones as described in the following conversion table
